In 1996, kidZart© was transformed into the kidZart© Children's Renaissance Center. We offer a wide range of activities to encourage creativity, exploration, and learning, such as art classes, drama classes, horseback lessons, tennis lessons, fitness classes, and even tutoring. We understand the importance of family time and strive to make our programs and services as accessible and affordable as possible. We work with local vendors to negotiate group rates and pass these discounts on to our customers. We also offer transportation services to help our families get to and from their classes. Established in 2011, Burlington Dance Center provides dance classes for children ages 3-18, focusing on the development of technique, musicality and artistry. Our safe and nurturing environment encourages young dancers to use their creativity, think independently and care about each other. Burlington Dance Center is committed to training well-rounded, accomplished dancers, and our curriculum includes ballet training for all levels, from beginners to advanced. We also offer classes in pointe, variations, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop. The AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum provides high quality artistic training along with basics of dancer health and child development. At Burlington Dance Center, we believe that hard work and challenge are essential for growth and success, and that the joy of dance should be shared and celebrated. At our gym, we provide an array of quality programs for children of all ages and abilities. Our signature program is our developmental and progressive gymnastics and cheer classes. We also offer a number of other programs, including an After School Care program that provides a great opportunity for your child to get involved in activities that they’ll love. Our large, 12,000 square foot air-conditioned facility is equipped with the latest gymnastics and cheer equipment. Our equipment is designed with age and size in mind to ensure that each child is able to use it safely and effectively. Our students have gone on to dance with the great companies throughout the world and have been seen in such Broadway productions as Cats and Mary Poppins. Walkerdance is an amazing studio that provides a unique experience for all our students. We strive to help our students develop not only their dance technique and skills, but also their confidence and poise. Our annual Nutcracker performance at Elon University is a testament to our success in this area. Our students gain the knowledge that by working hard and having a positive attitude, they can achieve their goals and be a leader in their chosen field. In the post-WWII era, the Korean martial arts were consolidated and experienced a period of growth on the entire Korean peninsula. A number of different organizations came into existence, each with its own name, such as Soo Bahk Do, Tang Soo Do, and Tae Soo Do. Despite the widespread popularity of Tang Soo Do, the Korean government was concerned that it could be construed as a Chinese martial art due to the first word “Tang” referencing the Chinese Tang Dynasty. To combat this, a government-sponsored group was formed in 1964 to create the new name Tae Kwon Do for the martial arts. This ensured that the martial arts would be seen as a Korean art and remain distinct from its Chinese counterparts.
