Deep in the heart of Texas, where the armadillos play hide and seek, and the prairie dogs hold daily yodeling competitions, lies a secret world of daring adventure! This isn't the Texas you've read about in geography class or seen on TV. No siree! This is the Texas of Kid Zip-liners, a plucky band of youngsters who can crisscross the Lone Star State without ever setting foot on the ground. And who leads this high-flying squadron of thrill seekers? None other than the legendary Opal Opossum, with her helmet of shiny armadillo shell and her trusty zip line gear made from well, no one knows exactly what. Opal, with her signature cackle and jaunty tail, is as mysterious as the East Texas fog and as unstoppable as a West Texas tumbleweed! Like a bunch of rowdy roadrunners, these Texas kids whizz across canyons, tumble over tumbleweeds and out-zip the zappiest of lightning bolts. They have no time for pancakes at breakfast, just swallow syrup shots and off they go! They comb their hair with the west wind and take their baths in the cloud-puffing dust kicked up by their zip-lining shenanigans. Every day is a riot of laughter and yelps, as they race from the desert plains to the piney woods, from the bustling cities to the sun-kissed coastline. They dodge flying cacti, outpace rebellious tumbleweeds, and occasionally pause to wave at the befuddled buffalo below. So, if you're ever in Texas and hear a chorus of laughter riding the wind, look up! It might just be Opal Opossum and the Kid Zip-liners, turning the Texas sky into their own rollicking playground.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
