Once upon a time, in the tiny, yet magnificent kingdom of Rhode Island, there lived a group of inventive and inquisitive kids who loved to tinker and build in their magical land. Rhode Island, though the smallest state in the U.S., was brimming with grand forests, spectacular beaches, and enchanting lighthouses, offering an endless pool of inspiration for these young creators. They were not your ordinary kids, but Rhode Island's Elite Woodworking Wizards, led by their clever and hilarious mentor, Sir Woody Knot-A-Lot. Sir Woody, with his wooden bowtie and fluffy, bark-colored beard that looked like it was made of wood shavings, was a character like no other. He had a knack for transforming any piece of timber into an extraordinary masterpiece, and his jokes were as impeccably timed as his precise wood cuts. These Woodworking Wizards spent hours designing and building all sorts of wooden wonders, from mini lighthouses mimicking the ones scattered around the Rhode Island coast, to intricate wooden boats embracing the state's rich maritime history. They celebrated each completed project with a high-five and Sir Woody's signature chuckle, and, of course, a myriad of wooden puns. "Wood you believe it, we nailed it again!" was their favorite. With their boundless creativity and Sir Woody's guidance, these Rhode Island kids proved that size doesn't define your capacity to create. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups.
