Harlem School of the Arts has been dedicated to providing creative and interdisciplinary education for over half a century. In addition, we prioritize teaching students the communication, collaboration, project management, and entrepreneurial skills that will help them pursue any field they choose. Michael Murphy had a dream to provide every child with the same opportunities he had while growing up. In 2003, he founded Kids in the Game, gathering a bag of used basketballs and soccer balls. This was the first step in his mission to help children get involved in sports and fitness. Today, Kids in the Game provides programming and equipment to over 5,000 kids in New York City. This would not have been possible without the dedication of Michael Murphy and his mission to help children reach their physical activity goals. The organization has grown and evolved over the years, but the core belief remains the same: that every child should have the opportunity to play.
