Judy Bush’s passion for beads started as a young child when she’d watch her mother in the evenings stringing beads before the days of television. Over the last 30 years, it has grown into a thriving business: JuBi Gems. Judy creates stunning necklaces and earrings featuring semi-precious stones. In addition to her business, Judy works for UNH Cooperative Extension as an Educator in Merrimack County, New Hampshire. She teaches a variety of courses, from family and parenting classes to nutrition and sewing. Judy also coordinates the Strengthening NH Communities initiative. Through this work, she became interested in social capital, which is the concept that people who work, play, and share common interests together are healthier, happier, and live longer. Ultimately, their collective actions make a difference in the world.
