About Bead Bush Studio

Judy Bush’s passion for beads started as a young child when she’d watch her mother in the evenings stringing beads before the days of television. Over the last 30 years, it has grown into a thriving business: JuBi Gems. Judy creates stunning necklaces and earrings featuring semi-precious stones. In addition to her business, Judy works for UNH Cooperative Extension as an Educator in Merrimack County, New Hampshire. She teaches a variety of courses, from family and parenting classes to nutrition and sewing. Judy also coordinates the Strengthening NH Communities initiative. Through this work, she became interested in social capital, which is the concept that people who work, play, and share common interests together are healthier, happier, and live longer. Ultimately, their collective actions make a difference in the world.

Patchwork Cuff

This free 1 hour class has been designed to help you plan and start a Patchwork Cuff. The cuff using a flat peyote technique works up fast once you get started. Each cuff you make will be unique and special.

Creating Bead Embroidery

These bead embroidery classes are focused on supporting your journey in creating your own style of bead embroidery. You’ll explore creating your own pieces using your choice of a variety of materials and techniques. With practice and exploration you’ll be creating bead embroidery that speaks to you and of you. Topics to be covered: designing, preparation of foundation, material choices, embroidery stitches, techniques using soutache, fabric, ribbons, cabochons, shaping techniques, finishing/edging techniques, and more. You’ll create the item of your choice–pin, pendant, collar, cuff, etc.

Chain Maille Basics: Helm Weave

This is an ideal class to learn chain mail basics OR pick up a new weave. And best of all, you’ll be creating beautiful jewelry at the same time. Learn the helm weave and make a chain or curl it into a flower like design. You will use two different sized rings to create a bracelet, pendant and/or earrings. The helm weave works up quickly to create beautiful pieces.
