Meet North Carolina, also known as NC, a place with mountains so high they seem to scratch the belly of the sky. This enchanting state is home to a peculiar group of children known as the "Crag-Kids." These kids are not ordinary, oh no! They have an extraordinary hobby - rock climbing! They scale cliffs and crags with the speed and grace of mountain goats, wearing a grin as wide as the horizon!

Imagine a character, let's call him Billy Boulder. Now, Billy isn't your average kid. He's the king of the Crag-kids, known far and wide for his exceptionally wide feet (rumor has it they're the size of dinner plates!), and fingers as nimble as a squirrels. Billy Boulder can cling onto rocks like a barnacle to a ship's hull.

These daring Crag-Kids of NC have a funny habit. As they climb the towering cliffs, they love to yell out hilarious jokes. Billy Boulder's favorite is: "Why don't mountains ever get lost? Because they always 'peak' at the right time!" The echoes of their laughter ring louder than the chirping of the birds.

In the state of NC, where the Blue Ridge Mountains stretch out like a slumbering giant and tales of daredevil Crag-Kids dance on the wind, every day is an adventure! Rock climbing isn't just a hobby for these children; it's a way of life, a thrilling ride filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the odd billy goat who seems to think he's part of the club! So, strap on your helmet, secure your harness, and join Billy Boulder and the Crag-Kids as they scale the heights of hilarity!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Camp Willow Run is located on Lake Gaston in northeastern North Carolina, providing a breathtaking backdrop for a unique Christian camp experience. Campers can stay in actual boxcars that have been converted into heated and air-conditioned dormitories, as well as an authentic 1911 steam engine and caboose. The camp's three-fold purpose is to win youth to Christ, help mature those who are already Christians, and demonstrate that you can be a Christian and have fun. From Bible study and devotions to music and personal interaction, Camp Willow Run is the ideal place for kids to learn and grow in their faith in a safe, fun environment.

Situated on 400 acres in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Brevard, NC, Gwynn Valley offers a farm, wilderness, and traditional program designed to foster community building, lifelong friendships, and a connection with the land. Our founder, Mary Gwynn, created a camp based on the values of simplicity, acceptance, a non-competitive program, and an appreciation of the natural world. Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, our campgrounds are only one mile away from the bustling town of Brevard, with a population of 7,000. With Asheville just a 40-minute drive away and Pisgah National Forest a mere 15 minutes away, our campers are sure to enjoy the many outdoor activities available. 

We provide plenty of programs for children between the ages 7 to 14, including Leadership, Aide, and Counselor-In-Training programs for older campers. Our staff make sure to keep our campers engaged and entertained with trips to the nearby attractions and activities. With so much to do and explore, your child is sure to have a summer of fun memories.

Falling Creek is an ideal destination for boys who want to have an outdoor adventure with their parents. Our Father/Son Weekends are a great way for dads and sons to bond and create lasting memories together. Since 1993, Adventure Treks has been providing teens from all over the world with the opportunity to explore the great outdoors and have life-changing experiences. Our team of professionals guide young adults ages 13-18 through some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet, teaching them valuable skills such as self-confidence, social achievement, teamwork, and leadership. Over the past 25 years, we have offered more than 20 programs across North America, with over 20,000 students having gone on this journey. Adventure Treks

At Green River Preserve, children experience the wonders of nature in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Our 3,400 acre private wildlife preserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina is an idyllic setting for campers to explore and bond with their peers. Our program encourages the development of important skills such as perseverance, curiosity, communication, optimism, creativity, and GRIT. Campers learn to appreciate themselves, their environment, and each other. With a limited enrollment of 112 campers per session, our summer camp is designed to be both physically and emotionally comfortable. We offer 1,2, and 3 week sessions for campers in the rising 1st through 9th grades as well as high school expedition programs for rising 9th graders through college freshmen.
