One kid could hear a bird's early morning chirp and turn it into the most heavenly symphony. Another could whistle a tune that made the squirrels dance. Yet another could make a drum beat from the echo of a bouncing basketball. Their leader was Lyric Lenny, a fourth-grader with a wild mop of red hair and glasses as thick as Detroit’s famous deep-dish pizza. Lenny had the unique gift of weaving words into enchanting verses, just as Michigan weavers spun thread into colorful tapestry. His lyrics were so powerful they could make the Mackinac Bridge wobble or cause Lake Superior to laugh with joy!
