Florida, the sunny playground of America, is full of palm trees and beaches, delightful oranges, and kids who are just as sunny and vibrant as the state itself. It's a dazzling place where the sea sparkles like a million tiny diamonds and the air always has a hint of barbeque and suntan lotion. But, what's really special about Florida isn't the Disney World or the alligators, but the amazing kids who live there. They are the real superheroes, especially those who participate in religious service activities.

Let me introduce you to Freddy the Flamingo, a tall, pink and extraordinarily charismatic character who is wildly popular amongst Florida kids. Freddy, despite being a flamingo, loves to wear his Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops. He's funny; he often forgets that he's a flamingo and tries to do human things like riding a bike, which usually end up in a hilarious tumble. He has a big heart and is always keen to help others, particularly when it comes to religious service activities.

Freddy and his little friends are the champions of religious service activities. They tidy up the church, sing in the choir, hand out programs, and even help with the Sunday school. And boy, do they have fun! They transform every chore into a game - racing to see who can pick up the most trash, or seeing who can sing the loudest without scaring the church mouse away.

Florida's kids believe they can make the world a better place, one religious service activity at a time. And with Freddy the Flamingo by their side, turning every task into a laughter-filled adventure, who wouldn't want to join them?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an amazing organization that has been helping athletes around the globe since 1954, and has touched millions of lives. FCA focuses on utilizing the platform of sports to reach athletes and coaches with the transformative power of Jesus Christ. In addition, FCA works hard to equip and empower coaches and athletes to work together to make a difference in their local communities. 

FCA has a great mission statement that parents can get behind: To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. With this in mind, it is important for parents to remember that youth sports should be about the development of the child’s character and ability, and not about inflating the ego of the adult. The Mission Academy is a unique opportunity for believers to gain insight into the Bible and its application to their lives. It is a one-year mission training program that seeks to equip believers in four areas of discipleship—Biblical Theology, Christian doctrine, Worship, and Mission Practice. Through a holistic approach, the program aims to help participants grow in their love for God, Scripture and His mission. Each week, class sessions will include lecture, cohort discussion, and formation exercises, and will cover traditional academic topics over a nine-month span.

At Camp Griffin, we strive to fulfill our mission of helping campers know Jesus Christ as Savior and as a friend. Visitors to KMC Florida are inspired by the beauty of the modern Buddhist Temple and the tranquility it exudes. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, our Founder, designed this unique structure as part of the International Temples Project and it was opened in 2011. A representation of the celestial palace of Heruka, the Buddha of Compassion, the temple is also a symbol of the stages of the spiritual path to enlightenment.
