In a whimsical corner of a magical land, known to ordinary folks as the state of Connecticut, and affectionally dubbed as the 'Nutmeg State', a motley bunch of energetic young sprites called the 'Connecti-cuties' gather to dance. Connecticut is not just a collection of quaint towns, and beautiful forests with spectacular fall colors. It isn't merely the home of the world's largest hamburger or the birthplace of the Frisbee. It's also a buzzing hub of rhythm, music, and dance, thanks to the Connecti-cuties! These young dancers aren't your ordinary dabblers in dance. Nope! They are magical beings who can tap-dance on clouds, pirouette on rainbows, and moonwalk on the moon. When the Connecti-cuties start to groove, even the Connecticut River takes a break from its journey to the ocean to watch their mesmerizing moves. One of the most legendary among these sprightly beings is a lad named Jiggy Jax. His jokes are as famous as his jigs. He once made a pine tree laugh so hard that it shed all its pine cones! Jiggy Jax, with his flaming red hair and twinkly blue eyes, dances with such gusto that he can literally make the earth quake under his tapping shoes. If you ever find yourself in the Nutmeg State, listen carefully. If you hear the faintest tap, tap, tap, along with peals of laughter, you know the Connecti-cuties are nearby, having their dance party. So, tiptoe quietly, and you might just catch a glimpse of their enchanting show!

Dear Families, (currently our website is under construction) Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people. Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment. At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new. Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special. Through the hard work and dedication of the theater’s team, a summer camp and classes in theater arts have been added, reviving a tradition of family theater that was established many years ago. Now, families can experience positive entertainment and involvement while watching their children grow in terms of self-confidence, artistic expression and teamwork. East Lyme Regional Theater is dedicated to building community and enriching lives through the arts. With the addition of a summer camp and classes in theater arts, the theater is now able to resume the former East Lyme Arts Council and East Lyme Children’s Theater’s tradition of family theater. This program will provide an amazing opportunity to families, allowing them to watch their children develop and flourish with the help of self-confidence, artistic expression and teamwork, all while providing positive family entertainment and involvement. At East Lyme Regional Theater, the vision is to create an environment where families can come together to be enriched and inspired by the arts. With the expansion project now underway, families can now be a part of this wonderful program, giving their children the opportunity to explore and develop their talents and skills in the arts. At our weekly Olympic Themed Clinics, kids have the chance to experience a variety of fun-filled activities to help develop their physical skills, as well as explore their creativity! We have a variety of activities such as water slides, slip n slides, water balloons, tie-dye and arts and crafts. Kids need to remember to bring a snack, bathing suit and a change of clothes to ensure they have the most enjoyable experience. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up ahead. We offer Saturday and Sunday times with 1.5 hours of obstacle courses, relay races, tumble track, parachute games, rope climb, supervised play, foam pit, indoor playscape, moon bounce, rock climbing and much more. These are competitive yet fun activities that will help your child practice their coordination and physicality in a safe and supervised environment.
