Connecticut, or as our friend Captain Whiskerbeard calls it, "The Treasure of New England," is a tiny gem nestled in the northeastern corner of the United States. Captain Whiskerbeard, the jolliest pirate known to mankind, loves to explore the state, especially its beaches and waterways. With his parrot, Mr. Squawksalot, perched on his shoulder, he navigates the Long Island Sound searching for young sailing enthusiasts. In this land of steady habits, you'll find kids who are as adept at sailing as Captain Whiskerbeard himself. They are the wind-whisperers, the wave-riders, the mini masters of the mast! They don't just sail; they dance with the sea and sing with the wind. It's not unusual to hear a chorus of "Yo ho ho!" echoing across the waters as these young sailors take the helm. Just like the state itself, these sailing kids have a spirit that's far grander than their size would suggest. Dressed in their bright life jackets, they bring a splash of color to the blue backdrop of the Connecticut coastline. They are fearless, adventurous, and always ready for a challenge. Whether they're racing their sailboats or leisurely exploring the coastline, they are a comical sight that would make even a grumpy old sea-crab crack a smile! And boy, do they have stories to tell! They'll narrate tales of treacherous sea monsters, lost underwater cities, and mysterious mermaids with such conviction, you'd almost believe they were true. Captain Whiskerbeard often says, "There's no greater treasure than a good yarn, and these Connecticut kids are as rich as a pirate king!"

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

Our mission for summer 2022 is to help children unplug from technology and get outside. We offer a unique combination of hands-on learning and outdoor adventure. At our camp, campers will explore the local shoreline, examine marine life, and learn about the environment. Our camp physician and staff are dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for our campers. Additionally, we work closely with the camp community and the state of CT to ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Project Oceanology is excited to provide a summer camp experience for kids to explore the outdoors and get away from their devices. We know that spending time outdoors is essential for children's physical and mental health. With the right precautions and safety protocols in place, children can enjoy all the benefits of outdoor play in a safe and secure environment this summer.
