In 1986, two college friends took a chance that changed their lives. Ira and Jefunira met as freshman roommates and formed a close bond that would last for years. After graduation, they decided to take a break before heading off to graduate school, and chose to spend their summer running a camp of their own. Starting out small with only 8 campers, the two friends managed to grow their camp to 15 campers and hire their first counselor. As their camp grew and flourished, so did their friendship, and Jefunira Camp became a well-known and beloved summer camp for kids.
