About Jefunira Camp

In 1986, two college friends took a chance that changed their lives. Ira and Jefunira met as freshman roommates and formed a close bond that would last for years. After graduation, they decided to take a break before heading off to graduate school, and chose to spend their summer running a camp of their own. Starting out small with only 8 campers, the two friends managed to grow their camp to 15 campers and hire their first counselor. As their camp grew and flourished, so did their friendship, and Jefunira Camp became a well-known and beloved summer camp for kids. Today, Jefunira Camp continues to offer kids a safe, fun-filled environment to experience the joys of summer. With Ira and Jefunira’s friendship as a foundation, their camp has flourished and grown into a beloved tradition for many families.

Junior Camp Program (entering pre-k and kinder)
Jefunira Junior Camp offers all the fun and unique activities of Jefunira Camp but adjusts them so that they are developmentally appropriate for campers who have not completed kindergarten. The program has been developed by specialists in Early Childhood Education to ensure that we can provide an amazing summer experience for younger children.

Day Camp Program entering (1-6 grade)
Day Campers are divided into separate age groups to better serve their individual needs and interests. We design different schedules for each group, which include some “all camp” activities.

Leaders in Training Program (entering 7-9 grade)
Our LIT program teachers leadership skills that young people can use throughout their lives to help others and themselves reach goals. We help young people FIGURE OUT what leaders say and do. And we provide opportunities to PRACTICE these in fun and positive environments.
