In the magical state of Wisconsin, also known as Cheese Land, there lived a host of adventurous kids who had a rather unusual friend called Wavy Wally, the water sprite. Wavy Wally was a charming, sprightly character with twinkling eyes and a bubbly personality that matched the frothy waters of Lake Michigan, where he resided.

Every sunny weekend, the Wisconsin kids would burst into a chorus of laughter and merriment, tumbling down the green hills, their cheeks rosy with anticipation. You see, these were not your ordinary children. They were the 'Water Wisconsinites,' renowned across the land for their extraordinary water activities. 

With Wavy Wally by their side, the Water Wisconsinites would dive into the shimmering lake, swim with the fish, and glide on water skis. They would build the biggest and mightiest sand castles that could rival any cheese castle in Wisconsin and have epic water balloon fights that would put any cheese battle to shame.

Wavy Wally was always at the heart of their aquatic adventures. He would twist into hilarious water shapes, become a whooshing water slide, or even a floating raft. At times, he would squirt water from his ears just to make the kids laugh, which sounded like a squeaky cheese wheel turning!

Indeed, such was the fun-loving spirit of the Wisconsin children and their watery pal, Wavy Wally. The land echoed with their laughter, their joy rippling across the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin, making it the most enchanting place to be in the world.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

With access to pristine lakes, acres of forests, and plenty of open skies, our camp provides an ideal setting for a summer of adventure. At Camp Brosius, you and your family create your vacation. Adults and children have the opportunity to participate in our exceptional family programming throughout the day, and we will provide fun-filled evenings for your entire family! Adults choose from swimming, tennis, sports and game tournaments, hiking, learning to sail, crafts, educational lectures, and more. Or, if it's respite you seek, you may prefer just to read a book and enjoy the serene setting. Young people ages 5–14 have an opportunity to experience a traditional summer camp, make new friends, and learn new skills. Meanwhile, parents and/or family members can relax and have fun knowing their children are safe and nearby. 

Children engage in daily age-appropriate programming provided by college students. The fun includes swimming, crafts, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, sports, talent shows, and more. 
Families with watercraft may dock their boats at camp and enjoy fishing or water sports. Nearby golf courses, outlet malls, and area attractions provide fun alternatives.

Your child will be able to explore an encouraging environment of play, learning, and companionship. The camp features cozy cabin living, creative counselors from all around the world, innovative programing, and plenty of new friends. Spend the days roasting marshmallows by the campfire, swimming in a crystal-clear lake, and gazing at the Milky Way! At Anokijig, the mission is to provide an outdoor setting and community that is based on respectful values, dedicated to the development of positive lifestyles, and focused on learning new skills and experiencing personal growth. In addition, Anokijig makes sure that children and families also have an outrageous amount of fun and develop an appreciation for our natural environment.

For over 115 years, COA's Camp Helen Brachman has been providing transformative camp experiences for Milwaukee's youth. The camp's trained counselors create a nurturing and supportive environment where children can explore the wonders of nature, try new activities, and make lifelong friends. Campers can enjoy summer camp, family camp, and winter camp sessions throughout the year. Camp Helen Brachman is the longest-serving camp in Wisconsin's history and offers a unique 206-acre facility with Pickerel Lake located at the center. The camp also features many other amenities such as hiking trails, a main lodge, a library, cabins, sports fields, and basketball courts.
