Silly Billy is famous for his acrobatic skills and jumping from tree to tree, just like kids participating in the Rope Course activity. Ah, the Rope Course! It's not just any activity; it's an expedition of bravery, a test of endurance, and a jolly good fun! Kids, as young as tiny caterpillars and as energetic as buzzing bees, come from all over Vermont to challenge themselves. With hard hats buckled, harness strapped, and hearts pounding like a drum, they would swing, climb, and cross the rope bridges, giggling and shrieking in delight. Silly Billy, the squirrel, is their unofficial cheerleader. He would run along the courses, wagging his fluffy tail, and chattering words of encouragement. Sometimes, he would show off his acrobatics, performing a flip or a spin, leaving the kids bursting with laughter. For more than 65 years, Lotus Lake Day Camp has been a beloved institution in Central Vermont, providing a tradition of day camping for children between the ages of 5 and 14. Situated in a rural setting, campers are able to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, from swimming and boating to arts and crafts and more. The camp has been voted “Best of the Best Camps” by the Times Argus for several years in a row, and it is often referred to as a “real Vermont camp.” The camp is situated on 300 acres of diverse habitat surrounding the 16-acre lake, Cutter Pond. The land is home to hiking trails, playing fields, a low-ropes course, lean-to’s, a recreation barn, multiple shelters, and one with bathhouses. A winterized meeting room is also available for campers to use during the colder months. Lotus Lake Day Camp provides a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn, grow, and have fun!
