Vermont, affectionally known as "the Green Mountain State", is a truly magical place where even the trees seem to hum joyful tunes. Every single corn field has its own personal rainbow and the cows send you good morning texts. Well, okay, maybe the cows don't really text but you get the picture! It’s a land where the lakes sparkle like the winking eyes of a mischievous leprechaun and the hills roll and bob like they're always ready for a party. Now, let’s meet the kiddos of Vermont who love to fish. They are a wild-crested bunch, braver than a bear driving a racecar! Yes, indeed! They march to their favorite fishing spots with hefty boots, wizard-like hats, and fishing rods that sometimes double as light sabers. Meet Captain Squidwhiskers, the imaginary friend of every fishing kid in Vermont. This whimsical, mustachioed octopus, wearing a checkered vest and a captain’s hat, is known for his legendary fishing tales. They say he once hooked a fish so gigantic, it sneezed and created a new river! The kids of Vermont, with Squidwhisker's guidance, have adventures that would make a trout tremble. They cast their lines into the shimmering waters, whispering secret fish lullabies that they learned from Captain Squidwhiskers. Then, they wait, their eyes wide, hearts pounding, as they anticipate the tug of a fish. Fishing in Vermont is so much more than catching a fish. It's about the thrill, the adventure, the chuckles, and the high-five given by a tentacled, talking octopus. So, if you ever find yourself in the enchanting state of Vermont, don’t forget to say hi to a cow… You never know, it might just text you back!

Keewaydin Dunmore is a summer camp like no other, located on beautiful Lake Dunmore in the heart of the Green Mountains in Vermont. Boys ages 8-16 return year after year for the magic of a Keewaydin summer. Campers come from across the US and international locations, representing different religions, races, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic backgrounds. Each boy is valued for who they are. The camp is divided into four “wigwams” (i.e. age groups): Annwi for 8-10-year-olds, Waramaug for 10-12-year-olds, Wiantinaug for 12-14-year-olds and Moosalamoo for 14-16 year olds. Each wigwam has its own living area and waterfront as shown on the illustrated map. Activities and trips are done primarily by wigwam, but the camp also comes together to eat and participate in activities and events. Established in 1910, Keewaydin Dunmore is one of the most established camps in the country and has long been at the forefront of the American camping movement. Its rich in-camp activity program and extensive trip program provide a summer camp experience that cannot be found anywhere else!
