Rhode Island, also known as the Ocean State, is about the size of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in comparison to the rest of the United States. But don’t let its size fool you! This tiny state is packed with more fun than a barrel full of monkeys, especially if you're into fishing. Children from all corners of Rhode Island, from the bustling city of Providence to the quaint, charming towns of Newport and Bristol, venture out to take part in the grand old pastime of fishing. Armed with their fishing rods, they set out like mini adventurers, hoping to reel in the catch of the day. One such child is our hero, Freddy the Fisherman, a ten-year-old with a heart as big as his dreams and a laugh as infectious as the common cold. Freddy is famous for his hat, a floppy old thing that looks like a pelican decided to nest on his head, and his lucky polka-dot fishing boots. Freddy and his friends cast their lines into the shimmering waters of the Atlantic, making bets on who can catch the most fish, or the biggest, or the weirdest. From tiny, bug-eyed pufferfish to enormous, grumpy-looking grouper, every catch is a victory, a treasure pulled from the deep, and a story to tell. But fishing isn't just about the fish. It’s about the thrill of the chase, the peace of the waiting, the victory of the catch, and, of course, the laughter and fun shared with friends. So, if you pass by Rhode Island and see a bunch of kids with fishing rods and a pelican hat – join in! There’s always room for one more in Freddy’s fishing squad.

DEBUT Creative Center & Theater-Studio is a dual-language (English–Russian) program where kids explore creativity, confidence, and self-expression. From theater and dance to fencing and stage performance, children can try new activities and discover their unique talents. Small class sizes let instructors give each child personalized attention, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and confident as they learn. Kids build artistic skills while also developing social confidence, teamwork, and poise on stage and in everyday life. Our programs celebrate each child’s individuality, combining fun, hands-on experiences with a focus on personal growth—all while keeping Russian language and culture an important part of the curriculum.
