These weren't your ordinary kids, oh no! They were the Gaga Ball Gladiators, famed throughout the land for their incredible agility and unbeatable sportsmanship. The leader of the Gladiators was a perky 10-year-old named Billy, who was as quick as a squirrel and as sturdy as the Statue of Liberty. Billy was known not just for his swift moves in the Gaga Ball pit but also for his outrageous hairstyle that looked suspiciously like a pineapple. He said it was his secret weapon, as it distracted his opponents during heated Gaga Ball duels. The Gladiators played Gaga Ball in Central Park, transforming the usual serene atmosphere into an arena of thrilling excitement. With each bounce of the ball, they'd dodge, jump, and swerve, their laughter echoing throughout the park. The squirrels would pause their nut hunting to watch the spectacle, and sometimes, even the street performers would join in the fun, juggling their hats and balls with the Gladiators. New York was a city of constant activity, but in those Gaga Ball moments, it felt as if time stood still. As if those towering skyscrapers leaned in to watch, the hotdog vendors cheered, and the yellow cabs honked their approval. These kids – the Gaga Ball Gladiators – they weren't just playing a game. They were a part of New York, and the city was a part of them. Together, they breathed life into each other, making the world a little happier, one Gaga Ball game at a time.

Dear Families, (currently our website is under construction) Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people. Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment. At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new. Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special. . Sky Lake is one of five camp and retreat centers owned and operated by the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. This camp and retreat center is part of the Camp & Retreat Ministries. It is supervised by The Executive Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries and overseen by the Committee on Camp & Retreat Ministries. At Sky Lake, visitors are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God, be the body of Christ within the world, and live in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ. Sky Lake provides a unique and meaningful experience for visitors, providing them with engaging, equipping and empowering activities. Through these activities, visitors are encouraged to build relationships with their neighbors, especially those who have been disenfranchised by mainstream society. The camp and retreat center also strives to develop leadership within the laity and clergy that is diverse yet united by their love for Christ. Sky Lake is the perfect place for visitors who wish to deepen their connection with God and build meaningful relationships with their neighbors. With the help of the Camp & Retreat Ministries staff and volunteers, visitors will be able to engage in meaningful activities that will help them grow in their relationship with God, be the body of Christ within the world, and live in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ.
Camp Hilltop has been a part of the Hancock, New York community since 1924. This beautiful camp is situated on 600 acres of woodlands and fields, with a private lake, in the picturesque Catskill Mountains, just two and a half hours from New York City. This summer camp offers a variety of activities, including water skiing, wakeboarding, trapeze, hiking, horses, climbing tower, high ropes, and many sports, performing arts and arts and crafts. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment, with a four to one camper to counselor ratio, overseen by a mature, skilled and caring staff. Camp Hilltop is more than just a summer camp; it’s a place where children and young adults can find a friendly and fun community and explore the wondrous possibilities in their lives. Camp W offers a wide variety of activities for campers. Each group has a daily schedule for swimming, sports, arts and crafts, group games, nature, and special events. Camp W also offers a range of activities for campers to choose from, such as archery, tennis, fishing, music, and more. Camp W is a great place to make friends and create lasting memories. Campers can have a fun-filled summer at Camp W, while learning, growing and making memories. With a variety of activities, campers can develop new skills and make lifelong friends. From pre-K through 9th grade, Camp W has something for everyone.
Since 1989, Gate Hill has been a part of the Male family. Josh, Bob, and Jennifer, the camp directors emeritus, have been overseeing the daily operations of the camp and providing supervision to both staff and campers. However, the word “family” extends beyond the Male family, with campers, parents, and staff all part of the Gate Hill family. We want to ensure that our campers have a fulfilling experience, so we provide parents with updates on their child’s progress, friendships, and stories that make them smile. We are also available to answer any questions that parents may have to make sure their child has the best possible camp experience.
