Camp Cherith of Western New York is a camp dedicated to transforming the lives of children and youth by providing a Bible-based, Christ-centered outdoor camping program. Licensed through Pioneer Clubs, there are associated camps throughout the United States and Canada. The name Cherith (pronounced CARE-ith) originates from 1 Kings 17, when God told Elijah to go the brook called Cherith during a drought. To symbolize the role of the Christian adults at Camp Cherith, they are given names derived from birds and other animals to represent their part in nourishing the campers' spiritual growth. At Camp Cherith, campers are provided with a unique opportunity to explore and discover the Word of God. With carefully chosen Christian adults who love the Lord, campers are given a safe and nurturing environment to learn and grow spiritually. The adults’ names, derived from birds and other animals, serve as a reminder to the children of the nourishment they receive. Camp Cherith of Western New York is an incredible opportunity for children and youth to learn about the Bible and deepen their relationship with Christ.
