Our very own Brainy Bunch are not ordinary kids. They are super kids! They can unravel the mysteries of the universe, decode the language of computers, build towering structures, create enchanting melodies and paint their dreams into reality – all before they sit down for lunch! Our fearless friend, Bucky the Beaver, is their guide. Bucky, with his magnetic personality, and an infectious laugh that sounds like water splashing against the river rocks, wears a shiny lab coat adorned with all sorts of peculiar gadgets, all as colorful as his personality! Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
Our Teen Adventure Camp is for those ages 12-15. This camp provides a weekly field trip to various sites throughout Wayne and the surrounding towns. Our teens get to experience activities such as rock climbing, whitewater rafting, zip lining, hiking, and more. Additionally, we offer leadership development activities, such as “Crisis Management” and “Pilot a Project.” These activities are designed to help our teens develop their problem solving and decision making skills. The Wayne YMCA's Summer Camp program is designed to give children the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and secure environment. Our campers can take part in a variety of activities tailored to their age group, including exploring the great outdoors, learning conflict resolution, participating in community service projects, and attending field trips. Our White Pines Day Camp and Teen Adventure Camp provide a variety of activities that will challenge and engage campers of all ages.
