Oh no, these were the Music Marvels of NJ, those who could play saxophone solos that made birds swoop in harmony and guitar riffs so catchy, even the grumpiest grouch would tap their feet. Leading this awesome band of musical maestros was the dashing and daring B-flat Benny. With a flash of his violin bow or a flick of his piano-key-flicking fingers, he could whip up a tune that would make even a statue groove. He was as famous in New Jersey as the Jersey Devil, but far less scary! Jersey was known for many things - its glorious beaches, the bustling boardwalks, the lush Pine Barrens, and of course, its legendary tomatoes. But, in Benny's eyes, nothing was as exciting as the sound of music echoing through the streets, from Cape May to High Point. No matter where you went in NJ, you could always hear the sweet melody in the air. Kids playing their harmonicas in Hackensack, trumpeting in Trenton, or belting out ballads in Bayonne. The Garden State was really the Groovin' State, all thanks to B-flat Benny and his band of musical mates. So, if you ever find yourself in New Jersey, listen closely. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. We offer small class sizes to ensure that our dancers receive the individual attention they need to develop their skills. Our facility is well-equipped with two dance studios and a music room. We provide a wide range of classes including Dance, Acting, Piano, and Voice Lessons. We also offer a comfortable waiting area for parents to relax while their children are in class. Our classes are open to dancers and performers of all ages and skill levels, with all classes being co-educational. At Backstage PAC, our mission is to guide and encourage each student on their journey of self-expression.
