The YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts has a long history, beginning in 1892 when it was founded to provide safe housing, job training and support to women transitioning to working in the area mills and shops. Through the years, this agency has grown and now serves more than 15,000 women, children and families from towns throughout Merrimack Valley, Essex County and Southern New Hampshire. The YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts is an affiliate of YWCA USA, America’s oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization.
