Headed by their leader, a mysterious old granny named Nimble Nana, who possesses knitting needles faster than a hummingbird's wings and who’s so cool she wears sunglasses at night because "the moon shines too bright." These kids from across the lakes and forests of Michigan meet in their secret knitting den after school and on weekends to create the most outrageous and colorful scarves, beanies, and, yes, even socks! Their fingers dance across the yarn like a ballet of spiders, and not a day passes without someone wearing a new, knitted masterpiece. These kids have more yarn in their houses than furniture, and if you're not careful, you might just find yourself entangled in a rainbow-colored yarn-web! Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality.
