They are the boating champions of Maine, the masters of merriment, and the kings and queens of canoeing. At Camp Takajo, we maintain a traditional camp experience that is focused on teaching and reinforcing the twelve Arch Ideals. These ideals are at the center of camp life and serve as a guide for our campers and staff members. Our goal is to provide a program that promotes the development of character and personal growth in a safe and positive environment. The 12 Arch Ideals are integral to the Camp Takajo experience. These ideals form the foundation of our camp and are the cornerstone of our program. They are emulated by our staff and embraced by our campers. The ideals are reinforced throughout camp in both formal and informal settings, from educational assemblies and campfires to daily interactions. They provide the guiding principles for all of our campers and staff, setting the tone for a positive and meaningful summer experience.
