This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Our goal is to provide a program that promotes the development of character and personal growth in a safe and positive environment. The 12 Arch Ideals are integral to the Camp Takajo experience. These ideals form the foundation of our camp and are the cornerstone of our program. They are emulated by our staff and embraced by our campers. The ideals are reinforced throughout camp in both formal and informal settings, from educational assemblies and campfires to daily interactions. They provide the guiding principles for all of our campers and staff, setting the tone for a positive and meaningful summer experience.

Our girls benefit from a carefully planned program that includes outdoor activities, team sports, creative arts, waterfront adventures and more. Campers are also encouraged to explore our natural surroundings and discover the wonders of the Maine outdoors. Our experienced staff is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing and fun-filled environment where girls can build self-confidence and self-esteem while making memories to last a lifetime.

We recognize that boys have complex emotional lives that need to be nurtured with important connections and support to help them deal with the pressures of growing up. During the school year, they work to develop their intellect, and in the summer, they can hone the skills that will set them up for success in life. To make sure our campers get the best possible experience, we put all our focus into selecting, training, and supervising our counseling staff.
