Since 1967, Community Action Programs Inter-City (CAPIC) has been devoted to ending poverty in Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop. A board of twenty-one community-based directors, representing public, private, and low-income sectors, governs CAPIC. CAPIC provides housing services to residents of East Boston through its local program and twenty-five other regional communities, as well as weatherization services to eighteen local communities. This organization is determined to identify and eliminate the causes of poverty in the area for a brighter future for all.
Founded in 1993 by the late Roseann Tavares, Pleasant Times Learning Center has been providing children with an enriching and unique educational experience for over 25 years.
