Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
For over 40 years, we have been providing quality childcare and daycare services for children from infancy through pre-kindergarten. Our infant/toddler program is designed to support the cognitive, social, emotional and physical development of children as they grow and develop. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and explore through play. We also provide before and after school care for elementary school students. We understand that young children have unique needs and interests and we strive to meet those needs with our age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate programming. Our daily activities are designed to be fun and engaging, and they are based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Standards for Learning. In addition to our regular programming, we offer summer camp programs that incorporate field trips, special events, and other activities that focus on exploration, creativity, and adventure.
