Once upon a time, in the fantastic state of Massachusetts, which was as grand as a king's castle, a bunch of cheeky, playful kids loved to dive into a special activity known as Sensory Play. The state itself was a treasure trove of history and beauty, with its mighty mountains, whispering woods, and big, dazzling cities. It was as if Mother Nature and Father Time played a game of chess and Massachusetts was their masterpiece. These bright-eyed Massachusetts kids, who were as lively as a basket of bunnies, loved nothing more than splashing their hands into squishy, squelchy jelly, or feeling the tickle of a feather brush against their skin. The Sensory Play was like magic to them, as enchanting as a unicorn's giggle! Their leader was a cool imaginary character named Fredrick the Freckled Frog. Fredrick, with his emerald green skin and a shower of golden freckles, was as funny as a clown's sneeze. He had a belly laugh that could shake the trees and his big bulging eyes twinkled with mischief. Fredrick would guide the kids through the sensory play, his long, sticky fingers exploring the different textures alongside theirs. "Listen to the plop-plop of the slime," he would say, or "Feel the crunch of the dried leaves," always making the kids laugh with his hilarious, exaggerated expressions. Life in Massachusetts was always an adventure with Fredrick and the sensory play. The kids would always end their day tired but happy, their hearts full of joy and their minds bursting with new experiences. Even the stars in the Massachusetts sky seemed to twinkle a little brighter, as if joining in on their laughter and fun.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

Our blended approach to nurturing the whole child is rooted in play, with an emergent curriculum being used to gradually expose them to components and best practices from progressive curriculums. We foster self-directed play to give children the opportunity to hone their decision-making and planning skills. We co-construct the curriculum with the children, allowing their emergent ideas and interests to guide our topics of investigation. We recognize the importance of building a loving and supportive community in which a child can feel safe to live, grow, play, discover, develop, dream, and learn. We strive to be engaged and involved in the child's everyday learning to ensure they have a welcoming, loving, and rich environment in which to thrive.
