The leader of the "Page Turners" was a cool, oversized bookworm named Bookzilla. Bookzilla wore retro glasses and an Indiana Jones-style hat, and he had an infectious giggle that made everyone around him chuckle. He was known to sometimes mispronounce big, bookish words, like 'onomatopoeia' or 'hyperbole,' which would send the kids into fits of laughter. But, most importantly, Bookzilla had an incredible knack for bringing stories to life, making reading an exhilarating ride for all the "Page Turners." Little People's College was founded in 1980 by Sandy Rego and Joyce deSousa, two experienced public school teachers and mothers of preschool age children. The pair developed an innovative curriculum that taught the skills children would need before entering public school. Since 1992, Little People's College locations have been nationally accredited and have continued to pursue accreditation for new centers. There are currently 14 locations and the curriculum is reviewed and updated annually to reflect local, state, and national requirements. At Little People's College, children receive individual attention from highly qualified educators, thanks to the small class sizes. The curriculum is tailored to help children build the skills they need to make the transition to public school.
