Their leader is a hilarious character named Giggling Gus, a freckle-faced lad with hair as orange as a Florida sunset. Gus is known far and wide for his infectious laughter which, legend has it, can be heard even over the thundering hooves of a thousand wild horses. Every day, Gus and his trusty steed, a lovable horse named Roaring Rocket, lead the Horseback Kids on thrilling escapades. From the swampy Everglades to the sparkling waters of the Gulf, they leave no stone unturned. Despite his constant giggles and tendency to trip over his own lasso, Gus is an expert horseman. He teaches the Horseback Kids everything they know - how to saddle up, how to trot, canter, and gallop, and most importantly, how to communicate with their equine friends. Life for the Horseback Kids is a wild, sun-soaked adventure. And they wouldn't have it any other way. They love their horses, they love their state, and they love the feeling of the warm Florida breeze whipping through their hair as they ride into yet another day of laughter and discovery. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. At Bridle Paths Summer Horse Camp, campers will have the opportunity to advance their riding skills in a safe and fun environment. With a team of experienced and knowledgeable instructors, a variety of riding disciplines are available to help students learn and improve their skills. From dressage and hunter/stadium to cross-country, each camper will have the chance to select the discipline that best suits their individual goals. Designed and led by Rebecca, who was inspired by her own pony club camp experience, Bridle Paths Summer Horse Camp is the perfect place for female equestrians to develop their riding skills. With a supportive and positive atmosphere, campers will gain a greater understanding of the horse-rider relationship and have the time of their lives!
