The Lucy Robbins Welles Library is a beloved fixture of the community. Opened in 1912, the library was named in honor of Miss Welles’ sister, Lucy Robbins Welles, who had bequeathed a generous sum of money and donated the land for the library’s construction. The original building still stands today, a testament to the community’s commitment to lifelong learning. Today, the Lucy Robbins Welles Library is a vibrant hub of activity, offering a variety of resources and services for the community. From books to digital materials, audio-visual equipment to special programming, the library continues to meet the changing needs of our community. Starting December 9th, join us for a fun and exciting 8 week program. Learn to skate with Serhii Vaypan, Assistant Skating Director Sarah Carney and our regional and sectional competitive skaters. On-ice instruction will last for 40 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes of free time for you to practice your skills. Skate rentals are included in the cost of the program, and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Classes will run each Friday from December 9th till February 10th at 5pm, and the cost of the program is $155. Exact dates are: 12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10. There are no classes on 12/23 and 12/30. Our program is a great way for you to learn to skate and work on your skills. We hope to see you at the rink!
