In the teeny, tiny, terrific state of Connecticut, also known as CT, there exists a band of brave, bubbling, bouncy youngsters who delve deep into the magic of Mother Nature. Though Connecticut might be small, it's packed with big surprises - thunderous waterfalls, sprawling forests, and mystical caves that can make you say, "Wowzers!" faster than you can finish a slice of New Haven's world-famous pizza. Now, let's talk about these kids, our little heroes. They are the members of the "Nature Navigators Club", led by their fearless, funny, and slightly furry leader - Raccoon Rocky. Rocky, with his bright, twinkling eyes and a striped tail fluffier than the fluffiest pillow, encourages them to explore the CT wilderness. You can often spot him with a leaf-shaped map, a backpack full of snacks (with a soft spot for marshmallows), and a never-dying enthusiasm for nature. From catching dreamy dragonflies in the soft morning light to chasing the sunset amongst the towering trees, Rocky and the gang live life one adventure at a time. They giggle at the tickling sensation of caterpillars on their arms, they marvel at the melody of the birds, and they aren't afraid of getting a little muddy during their explorations. These kids are curious, courageous, and compassionate little explorers. They are not just the future of Connecticut but also the guardians of its lush landscapes. They know that every leaf, every insect, and every bird song is a part of a big, beautiful puzzle called nature. And under Rocky's guidance, they're putting the pieces together, one exciting adventure at a time!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

In 1979, a group of committed Darien citizens founded the Darien Nature Center with the mission of teaching respect for and understanding of the environment. The founding Board of Directors was composed of individuals active in local organizations such as the Audubon Society, the Conservation Commission, the Darien Community Association, and Darien Public Schools. To start, the Nature Center held summer programs in Darien public schools and as the interest in the cause grew, the search for a permanent home began. Today, the Darien Nature Center has become a place to learn about and appreciate the beauty of nature, while connecting with the local community. As a hub for environmental action and stewardship, the Nature Center offers a variety of educational programs and hands-on experiences for all ages. Through these activities, the center strives to foster a love of nature and encourages people to take action to protect and preserve the environment.
