Each morning, they’d roll out of their surfboard-shaped beds, pop a sunshine-yellow hat on their heads, and buckle up their flip-flops. With the energy of a sugar-rushed squirrel, they'd zip down the beach, practicing their cheers and stunts, their voices rising above the seagulls squawking, making even the grumpiest of sea crabs crack a smile. The leader of this bouncy band was a girl named Cali. Now, Cali was genuinely something else. She could do a backflip with a twist that would make a pretzel jealous, and her high notes could make a dolphin doubt its singing abilities. And boy, did she have spirit! If spirit was honey, she'd be a hive! Every day, these cheerleading champs would gather at the sandy shore and tumble, twirl, and twinkle like the stars above.
