About 1000 Islands Environmental Center

The 1000 Islands Environmental Center provides a wonderful opportunity to explore our natural environment. Take a hike or a snowshoe adventure along the many miles of nature trails. Learn about the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between humans and the natural world with year-round educational programs. Inside the Nature Center, there is something for everyone - from live animals and interactive displays to a Fox River arrowhead collection, native animals, a gift shop and more. The 1000 Islands Environmental Center is a great place to visit and learn about our natural resources. With an array of activities, including hiking, snowshoeing, educational programming and fun displays, the Center has something to offer everyone. Discover the importance of keeping our environment healthy by exploring the interactive educational displays. Our field trips are naturalist-led educational programs that provide challenging and thought-provoking activities. Teachers can create a custom field trip by mixing and matching activities from the list below. Activities cover a wide range of topics and formats for all ages. 1000 Little Wonders – Song Birds
1000 Little Wonders – Song Birds (9:30 – 10:30 AM) This class if for children 3 – 5 years old and their caregiver. Listen to the book The Good for Nothing Button by Charise Mericle Harper. Hear what different songbirds sound like and then we will take a walk outside to listen for some birds. This program will be both inside and outside. Please dress for the weather.

CUB SCOUTS
Join an achievement-based program designed by our naturalists to meet adventure requirements. Adventures are currently offered for Bears, Wolves, and Webelos.
