About Central Wisconsin Environmental Station

At Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES), we are dedicated to providing a unique learning experience. Located 17 miles east of Stevens Point on glacial Sunset Lake, our 200-acre teaching and learning center has been an integral part of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point College of Natural Resources program since 1975. Our experienced natural resource and environmental educators provide a range of programs designed to foster in adults and youth an appreciation, understanding, and skill development regarding the environment, economy, and community. We are committed to helping all our guests gain the motivation needed to build a sustainable balance between the environment, economy, and community. Through our interactive programs, we strive to provide a meaningful learning experience for all ages in a safe and enjoyable environment. At CWES, we take pride in our commitment to helping the environment. We offer a wide variety of programs to educate and inspire our guests, such as environmental science, outdoor exploration, and hands-on learning activities. Our goal is to help you become an environmental steward and a better steward of the planet.

Programs

The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.

Day Camp Ages 5-10

Get to know the camp experience through waterfront time at Sunset Lake, crafts and games while attending the Day Camp. Camp runs 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.

Adventure Trip Ages 13-15

Journey through Northern Wisconsin to discover beautiful waterfalls in Copper Falls, Amnicon Falls and Pattison State Parks. Daily hikes, swimming at the beach, comfy nights around the campfire and more!

Residential Camps Ages 10-12

Up your outdoor skills through this week, and gain experience in fire building, outdoor cooking and even tree climbing! Campers will enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming, archery and games, as well.
