You see, South Carolina isn't just about sweet tea, juicy peaches, and basketball. It's also a place where imagination runs wild, and dreams come to life on the stage. It's a place where kids don a suit of armor to battle dragons, fly on magic carpets, or transform into superheroes saving the world, all before lunchtime! Meet our friend, Snortlepop McFizzlepants. Yes, you read that right! He’s the friendliest three-headed alien you'll ever meet, and he's the wackiest, wildest, most whizz-bangingly enthusiastic drama coach this side of the Mississippi. Snortlepop, with his six eyes, and three mouths, helps these talented youngsters to channel their excitement and boundless energy into amazing performances. Now, let's not forget, these SC kids are as unique as Snortlepop himself! There's Billy, who can mimic any accent from French to Martian, and Susie, who can cry on cue when she loses her imaginary pet dragon. Then there's little Timmy, who might be shy off-stage, but becomes a roaring lion when the spotlight hits him. Together, they form the spectacular troupe, 'The Palmetto Players,' known far and wide for their tremendous talent and theatrical thrills. While we cater to children ages 1-13 for neurotypical kids, we have no age limit when it comes to kids with special needs—because play should have no boundaries. At The Happy Hive, we believe every child deserves a space where they can feel safe, included, and free to be themselves.
At CCJ Conservatory, we are nationally recognized for excellence in dance education. Our classes and performances are proudly supported by the South Carolina Arts Commission, which is funded by the National Endowment of the Arts. Our studio is conveniently located on Highway 378 between Lexington and Columbia, S.C. We know that the first dance class your child takes is the most important, and we strive to provide a fun and safe experience that offers a strong foundation in technique and terminology. Our goal is to foster self confidence, discipline, and a sense of community in our young dancers. We believe that these skills will have a positive impact on other aspects of their lives, even if they don't continue dancing for an extended period.
