About Hungry Monk Music

At Hungry Monk Music we believe that music is a powerful tool for personal development and growth. We have created a unique and diverse environment for our students to explore their creativity and develop a life-long love for music. Our experienced instructors provide world-class instruction and guidance to our students and community. We understand the importance of music in our lives and strive to provide the highest quality instruction in a fun and supportive environment. Our instructors are experts in their fields and have years of experience teaching and playing music. We provide a wide range of musical styles and techniques for our students to explore. We also offer performance opportunities and classes for all ages and abilities. Whether it's a beginner or a professional, we can provide a unique and rewarding experience.

GUITAR, BASS, & UKULELE
We offer lessons for acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and ukulele in all styles including Classical, Rock, Folk, and Jazz. We start guitar students as young as 6 and so far our oldest student has been 82. We teach all levels from beginners to advanced. Many of our students have gone on to professional careers and college study.

PIANO
Private piano lessons for all ages from beginning to advanced. Traditional classical instruction as well as popular styles including rock, blues, and jazz are all offered.

STRINGS
Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass lessons are all available. From beginners to advanced players, our students include classical students from the Charleston County School of the Arts and other public and private schools, as well as folk musicians studying Bluegrass and Celtic music. Beginning students participate in a Saturday group class, and all students are invited to join the Hungry Monk String Orchestra.
