About Ballet Academy of Charleston

For over 25 years, Ballet Academy of Charleston has been the go-to place for classical ballet training. Our school follows the Russian school of training, based on the Bolshoi Ballet’s curriculum and is the only studio in Charleston to offer classical ballet exclusively. We offer classes for children of all levels and abilities, ages 3-18, and even offer Mommy & Me classes for children as young as 18 months. We also have a thriving adult program for beginners through advanced students, with spring, fall, and summer semesters for all children’s levels, plus a variety of summer camps and intensives. Adult classes run all year round. With Ballet Academy of Charleston, you can be sure that you and your children are receiving the highest quality in classical ballet training. Our classes are designed to meet the needs of all levels of learners, from beginner to advanced. Our experienced teachers provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere for students of all ages. With our unique and comprehensive curriculum, you can be sure that you and your family are receiving the best possible ballet training.

Creative Movement
Creative Movement is a fun class for children ages 3 to 5 that acquaints them with movement and rhythm. Classes are 45 minutes.

Pre-Ballet
Pre-Ballet is designed for children ages 6 to 8 years old. We work on simple classical movements, focusing on musicality and coordination. Classes are 60 minutes.

Ballet 1
In Ballet 1, students ages 7 to 10 will work at the barre, center and across the floor. We follow the Bolshoi Ballet curriculum. Classes are 60 minutes.
