At The Gamm Theatre, we believe in the power of storytelling. Our shows entertain, provoke, and engage seriously with the most important issues of our time. We also strive to promote life-long literacy in our community and beyond. Our educational programming is designed to enrich the cultural and civic life of our community, and we reach thousands of school students grades K-12 each year. We also make sure to provide access to underserved audience members. For those looking to explore culture and the humanities, The Gamm Theatre has you covered. We offer humanities forums and post-show talkbacks to further enhance the intellectual and cultural life of the community. RESIDENCIES AND WORKSHOPS
The Gamm Education Department collaborates with elementary, middle, and high school classroom teachers and librarians to enhance their curriculum with a flexible and dynamic teaching model. Short-term and long-term partnerships provide students with resources and strategies for developing literacy and a deep connection to the written word. The Gamm's residency program is available to educators across Rhode Island.

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL RESIDENCIES
Using the past success of our literacy-based residencies, what we have learned through virtual learning thus far, and the training of our Education Director as a drama therapist and mental health counselor, we have created virtual classroom residencies that focus on community, self-esteem, stress management, and well-being.

TRANSITION PROJECT
Our Transition Project aims to ease the transition into middle and high school for 6th and 9th graders. This is a critical time for students, often requiring multiple types of interventions to ensure academic and social success.

AFTER SCHOOL
The Gamm offers after-school programs focused on a variety of theater arts, including improvisation, story-telling, play-making, and character development. Students strengthen their creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills while creating a performance together.
