Food is essential to life. The truth about the food we ingest determines our state of health as individuals and as a nation. It is essential that we know the truth about the ingredients in the food we consume. Food and Truth is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to inform, educate, motivate and organize around food ingredient issues. To fulfill the organizing promise in our mission statement, we have developed and are refining Fit2cook4kids as a model program and solution to the catastrophic epidemic of childhood obesity and related diseases. Fit2cook4kids was launched as an after-school program in late March of 2009 at the DiVinci Center in Providence. During the summer of 2010 the first Fit2cook4Kids summer camps were launched at the Independence Square Foundation building on the University of Rhode Island campus in Kingston.
