About The Rhody Center for World Music and Dance

At the Rhody Center, we are dedicated to providing quality instruction in music and dance from a variety of world traditions. Our nonprofit music and dance school offers a wide array of classes, from private lessons to group classes, for both adults and children. We strive to provide affordable instruction and to promote the diverse heritage of Rhode Islanders through our focus on hard-to-find and/or art forms. At the Rhody Center for World Music and Dance, we offer something for everyone! Our mission is to provide affordable music and dance instruction that celebrates the diversity of our community. Our classes range from private lessons to group classes for all ages, and we host community events and workshops to bring people together. We believe in providing a safe, creative space for learning, self-expression, and collaboration. Our classes are tailored to meet the needs of our diverse community, and we strive to offer instruction in a variety of world music and dance traditions. At the Rhody Center, we are committed to making music and dance accessible to everyone. We invite you to join us in celebrating the richness and beauty of our world through music and dance!

After school programming
The Rhody Center offers after-school programming, working in partnership with select area schools. Schools with transportation may bring their students to the Rhody Center. Or, we also send teachers into the schools to teach. We have also started working with an area homeschooling organization! The programming we offer typically mirrors what we offer to the public.

Music
Bring the joy of music-making into your life. We make it easy and fun! Music Courses and Private Lessons. Ukulele ensembles and lessons. Piano lessons. Steel pans (steel drums) for adults and youth. Latin Percussion Ensemble for adults and Youth

At the Rhody Center, we believe that movement should be comfortable, fun, and expressive. Dance Courses and Workshops for Adults and Kids. Irish step dance courses for adults. Belly dance courses for adults. Tap dance courses for adults and kids. Ballet courses for adults More! Our offerings rotate and change
