About iDance Academy

At our dance studio in North Kingstown, RI, we understand that building self-esteem is just as important as creating talented dancers. That's why we strive to provide a fun, family-oriented environment where everyone can express themselves and grow. We offer classes in a variety of disciplines, including Ballet/Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pointe, Modern/Contemporary, Acrobatics, Beam, and Tap. We want our students to feel comfortable and confident as they explore the world of dance. That's why our studio emphasizes positive reinforcement and structure. Our experienced instructors will help to ensure that each dancer reaches their full potential in a safe and nurturing learning space. At our studio, we make it our mission to help young dancers build self-esteem while having fun. We believe that learning to dance can be an invaluable experience for anyone, and we strive to create a positive and supportive atmosphere where everyone can express themselves and grow. With classes spanning a range of dance disciplines, our studio is the perfect place to explore the joys of dance and build confidence.

Ballet

Ballet is the foundation for almost all other styles of dance! The language of classical ballet was written in French; therefore, we learn and speak French in our Ballet classes. Ballet technique is extremely important. The technique is learned by focusing on poise, posture, and placement. Dancers become stronger, more flexible, and have increased balance and endurance.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a style derived from African dance and encompasses everything from popping and locking to breakdancing, footwork and jumps. Hip Hop dance is a balance of letting go and being loose with your body and movements yet controlling them as well. Whether it is fast or slow, Hip Hop is a style of dance that is filled with attitude and fun!!

Jazz

Jazz dance has developed in parallel to popular music and has been influenced by African American, Caribbean, and modern U.S. culture. Jazz is medium paced and is based on style, utilizing both full body flexibility and isolated moves.
