About Nancy Larsen Dance Studio

We have a positive & friendly atmosphere. There is a waiting room for parents, siblings, etc. to watch the students dance. We have a dressing area for students to change into dance clothes privately. All Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Pointe classes are taught by Nancy and a dance assistant, who is experienced in that type of dance. Nancy also choreographs all the dances the students learn. Every other year, the studio presents a formal dance recital to showcase the talents of all our dancers.

Pre-Ballet
45 minute class. 3 1/2 yrs to 4 yrs old. This class is a lot of fun! Consists of 10-15 minutes of barre work, stretching, pre-ballet technique & basic terminology. Each class has a maximum of 12 students. We use age-appropriate music (Disney songs). At the end of every class, each student receives a sticker or stamp on the hand for doing such a great job! Each class contains students of the same age group/experience level. Beginner level class.

Jazz/ Kids Pop Dance
45 minute class. Consists of 15-20 minutes of exercises (warm-ups, stretching, crunches, etc.) and 20-25 minutes of dancing. Each class has a maximum of 12 students. We use current/popular songs, such as BTS Dynamite, Smile Katy Perry, and Break This Down from Descendants. Each class contains students of the same age group/experience level. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced classes available.

Contemporary Jr
45 minute class. Students 7-12 years old. Consists of 15-20 minutes of floor work, focusing on learning the basics of contract/release, slowly starting to strengthen core and back. Center floor work learning parallel position for 1st and 5th positions. Concluding with small movements across the floor such as walking triplets, walking tilts, table-tops, and prances.
