Established in 1825, the farm was purchased by Mary's grandfather, E.P. Forrestel, from his brother-in-law during the Depression. Under E.P.'s guidance, the farm was transformed into the renowned summer camp and working farm it is today. E.P. was an accomplished Belgian breeder, with one of his horses, Roscoe Peel, achieving national champion status.
