About Morris School District Community School

The Morris School District Community School has been a staple in the Morristown area for over 50 years, providing invaluable learning opportunities to the community. We offer a variety of programs for children, such as Sunrise and Sunset child care, Summer Plus and the Summer Music Academy, to ensure that kids of all ages get the enrichment they need. Adults in the community also benefit from the Community School, with a number of exceptional learning opportunities. The Great Horizons Lecture Series and other language, computer and technology, career and personal development, and creative classes are available to adults for furthering their skills and knowledge. Summer Music Academy
The Academy provides a half-day, four-week comprehensive music program that includes small group lessons on primary and secondary instruments, large ensembles, a variety of music electives, and a Gala Finale Concert! Students will receive their full schedule on the first day.

Theater Workshop (Gr. K-2)***
In an informal classroom setting, learn the skills of the theater: acting, directing, stage managing, and producing a play. Working as a team, the cast and troupe will learn all aspects of the theater through the rehearsal process to curtain call. The group will work with a script of a previously produced theater presentation.

Science Investigators (Gr. 3-5)***
Young scientists use simple materials and household products to form a foundation for learning about basic chemistry, physics, and biology. With a new experiment each week, youngsters conduct safe and age-appropriate experiments while learning the basics of the Scientific Method.
