About Black Belt Institute

Black Belt Institute has been Metuchen and Edison's leader in Martial arts & Fitness since 1993. During this time we have taught martial arts, moral and mental skills to thousands of adults and children from all walks of life. Students who have taken martial art classes with us now use the lessons they learned as doctors, government officials, school teachers, engineers and many other professions. We hope to help you and/or your children with the same time tested skills and lessons that many others have benefited from.

LIL DRAGONS TKD (AGES: 4, 5 & 6)

If you have a 4, 5 or 6 year old whom you'd like to learn Martial Arts, this program is fantastic. Lil' Dragons classes offer a structured yet fun approach to learning Tae Kwon Do martial arts. Children learn to say "I can do it" and to eat healthy foods. They also learn to get along with others by sharing and caring. Most important is the emphasis on using their Tae Kwon Do for only 1 of 2 reasons. First for self-defense when mental self-defense doesn't work. And second, when practicing either at the studio or at home only.

KIDS TAE KWON DO (AGES: 7 & UP)

Learn self-defense and develop a healthy mind, body, and spirit with this Korean Martial Art. This Olympic recognized style will improve self esteem, self-confidence, self control, cardiovascular fitness, goal setting & achievement, and a “can do it” attitude. Academic achievement with physical achievement is emphasized at Black Belt Institute. Experience the excitement and benefits of Tae Kwon Do first hand.

ADULT TAE KWON DO

Learn self-defense and develop a healthy mind, body and spirit with Tae Kwon Do style of Martial Arts. Classes are offered for ages 7 and up evenings and Saturdays. Learn the philosophy of this Korean Martial Art under the direction of Master Faxon & Mr. Ballantine. Classes are designed to improve self-image, self-confidence, self-respect, cardiovascular fitness, goal setting & achievement, overall good habits including academic achievement as well as physical achievement, and a can-do attitude.
