About Five Star Swim School - Edison

Swimming is a life skill that is valuable to student’s development, physically, socially, and emotionally. Five Star Swim Schools motto is “Swim like a Star!” This motto signifies the confidence that students gain when they learn to swim. We love seeing this confidence develop in children, from their first lessons, feeling timid or fearful. Then, as they master skills and move up through the skill levels, we see that confidence on full display. We have found, that in talking with parents that the self-esteem boost attained during swim lessons carries over into other aspects of their children’s lives.

Guppies 1 ( 2.5 yrs - 5 yrs )
In this level children acquire water confidence while developing basic swimming techniques with the assistance of an instructor. Skills taught are water submersion, glides, roll overs, kicking on back with a kick board, elementary backstroke, and back floating. Students will be introduced to the basic arm motions of front crawl.

Guppies 2 ( 2.5 yrs - 5 yrs )
In this class children will build upon the skills taught in level 1. As students become more confident, the instructors will provide less assistance.

Dolphin 1 ( 5 yrs - 8 yrs )
This class teaches children basic water safety and introduces them to the basics of front crawl with roll-overs. Kicking with a kickboard, back floating and elementary backstroke are also taught.
