Jacqui O'Shaughnessy had a dream of opening her own dance studio when she founded Woodbridge School of Dance in 1978. Since its humble beginnings as a one-room studio, the school has become one of the largest facilities in Middlesex County. BALLET/TUMBLE

(4-6 Years Old) In this class you will see the growth as the children find themselves at the ballet barre doing an entire warm up. They will learn to go across the floor and then move into center to learn a small combination. Tumbling focuses on control and learning the cartwheel and Backbend!

GYMNASTICS/ACROBATICS

(Beginner) Students at this level will learn basic balance skills and strengthening exercises to prepare them for tricks such as summersaults, cartwheels, and handstands. (Intermediate) Students at this level are really looking to move ahead to bigger and faster tricks. Class will have floor warm-ups and proceed down the mats with Intermediate tricks such as running round-offs through front and back walkovers. (Advanced) Students at the advanced level are now using tricks in combination as they move across the mat. Class warm-up is a little more intense to instill the safety of the students at all times. Advanced tricks would include: back and front tumbling such as back handsprings, tucks, layouts, aerials. Discipline is a must at this level.

MUSICAL THEATER

A jazz style dance with elements of Broadway and theatric performance. Students should be ready to act, lip sync, and dance while most importantly having fun during this class.
