About Camp Merriwood LLC

Located in the quaint town of Orford, MA, Camp Merriwood LLC has been providing a unique summer camp experience for girls aged 8 to 15 since 1949. Our camp is a traditional summer camp that focuses on helping young girls learn, grow and have fun in a safe and supportive setting. Through structured activities and creative electives, our campers gain the confidence to develop appropriate risk-taking skills. At Camp Merriwood, campers have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, such as tennis, soccer, lacrosse, water skiing, sailing, crew, horseback riding, arts and crafts, swimming, gymnastics, dance, archery and much more. We also offer a variety of special events and traditions throughout the summer. Our atmosphere of inclusion and support is why so many of our campers come back each year. LANDSPORTS
Our land sports program encompasses a variety of field activities: soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, archery, jogging, golf, field hockey and lacrosse. Basic skills to more precise skill work in each area helps the girls’ skills improve in each class period. We are pleased to have college players directing most of these activities.

Arts and Crafts, Dance and Theater/Drama

EQUESTRIAN
Our Riding Director, Sharron Garreau, oversees our on-site equestrian horseback riding program. Staff members with extensive experience assist her. Campers have fun learning stable management as well as riding horses bareback, doing gymnastics on horses, all increasing their comfort level. Girls may choose to ride every day or three times a week.
