About Checkmate Martial Arts

Leigh Rossi is a highly-qualified martial arts instructor with a wealth of experience. She holds a 7th Degree Black Belt under Dave Castoldi, a 5th Degree in Small Circle Jujitsu from Professor Wally Jay, a 5th Degree Black Belt from Jujitsu America, a 4th Degree Black Belt and life member of the United States Martial Arts Association, a 5th Degree Black Belt with Kitoshakai International, and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo. Leigh has been studying and teaching the martial arts since 1978, and is a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and Spontaneous Knife Defense Instructor for law enforcement and security professionals through PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics), now known as Human Factors Research Group/Warrior Science Group. With her impressive credentials, Leigh Rossi is an ideal mentor for any aspiring martial artist.

Checkmate Youth Martial Arts
At Checkmate, children ages 5 to 13 years old are taught an age appropriate curriculum that will help develop their physical, mental, and social skills. Our programs are taught in a structured, respectful, and encouraging atmosphere to help lay the foundation for an effective and comprehensive martial arts program.
